Around the Winter Solace, on the first day of January, people gave each other gifts during a celebration. The gifts were to symbolize prosperity and sweetness in the coming year. Originally evergreen branches were given but later it was cakes.

Over the years Gift Packaging become more and more involved and researched for maximum effect. Covering gifts creates excitement and suspense. Originally gifs was covered in fabric and then brown paper was used. Gift Wrap became popular because of the versatile use of paper. Just about any shape can be covered.

In order to get a firmer and neater look Gift Boxes was introduced. Over the Christmas period lots of families travel to either holiday or family destinations.
