How should I put my baby to sleep in his crib?
Place your baby on his back or on his side for sleeping. Use one piece sleepers rather than blankets. Your baby could slip under the blanket and possibly suffocate. Remove all pillows and toys as well, in order to prevent suffocation. In order for a baby to go home from the ICN (NICU), he or she should be able to be cared for at home with a minimum of risk. For many babies, this means that they are as well as if they had never had any difficulties.

Is Your Baby Teething?
A baby is placed in the intensive care nursery because, in the opinion of the professionals present at the birth of your baby, it is the best place for your child to be observed, treated and cared for. There are many answers to this question depending on your history and on the gestational age of your baby. After your baby has been admitted and examined the team can give you a more detailed explanation of what is going on.

What is a baby shower?
A baby shower is a party thrown in honor of a couple who is expecting their firstborn. Baby showers are held with the purpose of bestowing gifts upon the first-time mother so she'll have the items needed by the baby on its arrival day. When it is safe for your baby to leave the nursery, he or she will be taken to the radiology department for an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) in a special incubator designed for newborns.

What about Infant Tylenol?
Tylenol can mask a fever. While fever after a bris is very rare, the one thing parents need to know about their infant at any time is if he has a fever so I do not recommend the use of Tylenol. In my observation, giving the baby Tylenol does not have that much affect on pain relief at all. To conclude, I don't apply topical creams or use other means of pharmaceutical anesthetics when I perform brisses, and I generally advise against their use in the circumcision of newborns.

How are cloth carriers different from a Snugli or a Baby Bjorn?
First, formed carriers put your babys spine into an unnatural and potentially harmful position. Additionally, formed carriers arent as portable as slings since they dont squish into your diaper bag very easily. Theyre not good for breastfeeding in. And theyre usually outgrown within a few months, whereas a sling can last through the toddler years.Absolutely not. In fact, swaddling with the arms down is the way babies are wrapped in many, many other cultures. The only recommendation for arms up swaddling is for preemies. This helps them be more alert and neurologically organized. However, this is not a concern for term babies who are being swaddled to improve sleep and to soothe crying. Many Native American Tribes swaddled their babies with the arms down until ~6 months and they were well known to be brave and independent. - 15634
