I have made a short list of movie hits for 2008. These are some of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. Hopefully you will see some films here that you will enjoy.
ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, who promote an energy drink, might be seeing some hard jail time because they binged, and trashed the company truck. The way they can avoid being locked up is to perform 150 hours of community service. They will have to mentor troubled kids in a big brother type situation. The pieces are all in place for this to be very funny.
HAMLET 2: Unsuccessful actor Dana Marshz has found himself teaching theater classes at the high school to apathetic students. The school loses a building due to destruction, so the school board figures the theater curriculum will have to go. Now fully motivated, he plans to save the theater classes by producing Hamlet 2, a new version of the classic, which he writes himself.
TROPIC THUNDER: With an abundance of acting talent this outrageous flick is a classic parody of popular war films. To get a realistic performance from his crew to make a true epic masterpiece, the now venturesome director into the middle of nowhere, and leaves them on their own. The object is to overwhelm them into producing a war classic, which hidden cameras will capture. Incredibly, because the director walks over a land mine and is blown apart, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they are convinced everything is just an act, but the bullets flying are actually real. Here?s a great cast with incredible make up for Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise.
10,000 B.C.: This movie will take you back almost 12,000 years. When a warlike tribe attacks the Yaghai's, they kidnap the beautiful Evolet. A strong young hunter, D'Leh, who is in love with her, leads a group of hunters to pursue the warlords, and rescue Evolet and the others.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a quest to find his brother, Professor Trevor Anderson goes on a mission that sends him into the depths of our planet. This is a remake of the 1959 film, which was about the classic work by Jules Verne. Directed by Eric Brevig, and starring Brendan Fraser.
Jumper: During a near death experience, David Rice (Hayden Christensen) learns something incredible. He now knows he can actually teleport himself anywhere, anytime. Later, he becomes aware that there are others with this skill. Unfortunately, after a few years of fun, he is exposed to hunters that want him, and all the jumpers wiped out. Now he is in a fight for survival, as the hunters try to track him down.
THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: It's only about one down the road in their normal lives when, the four saviors of Narnia, Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund magically reappear in Narnia. Fearing for his life Prince Caspian has blown the magic horn, in a desparate plea for help. 100's of years have passed since they left Narnia, but they now return to rescue Narnia from an evil fate. With the support of the best fighters in the Narnia, including a very brave mouse, they will fight for the future of Narnia.
BOLT: Bolt: This film is a fun animation. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who in his role on television, has super hero dog powers. The thing about Bolt is that he is convinced he has superpowers. When he is accidentally finds himself in a real world situation, he discovers that he is just a dog. Now, trying to get back home, he is aided by a cat named Mittens, and an overweight hamster named Rhino.
WALL-E: This picture is an animated, comedy, adventure, sci-fi. Mankind has left Earth, since it had become a pile of rubbish. Wall-E, a robot built to remove trash, has been left behind to clean up the planet. When a recon robot (Eve) appears, checking to see if the planet can sustain any life, Wall-E is finally not alone. Eventually, when Eve is recovered by the craft that sent her, Wall-E stows away, and begins an exciting new life.
Most people buy or rent films when the come out on DVD, and views them on their home entertainment system. A new way people are acquiring movies is by downloading them directly off websites. There are websites that will download tons of different movies. - 15634
