Dark Circles Treatment: Home Remedies

By Mandy Urban

Quite a few of us are constantly being reminded of how old we are by the saggy, dark circles under our eyes. We sample all kinds of products, creams, serums, gels, but nothing seems to get rid of them.

There is so much pressure today to look younger, we see celebrities who have a variety of surgeries and procedures costing thousands of dollars just to look and feel younger. Bags under the eyes are an obvious sign of aging so if you've given up trying the latest and greatest solutions to roll back the years, maybe youre interested in some alternative solutions.

To start, eliminate your bad habits and implement better, healthier ones. For any skin care regimen, it's essential to strictly practice healthy behavior. As we get older, some of us abuse our body's ability to repel harmful toxins and substances. So your healthy routine is your way of helping your body and skin remain healthy well into your golden years. Every day you execute your health routine, you'll be adding years to your skin's overall health and vibrancy.

Here is a short list of things you can do on your own or find in your home to incorporate into your daily routine to help reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes:

Grate a cucumber and squeeze juice into a cup. Dip 2 cotton balls into juice and place one over each eye for about 15 minutes.

Use a potato in the same process.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.

In a bowl mix lemon juice paste, tomato puree, orange lentil flour (masoor dal) and turmeric powder.

Apply with a qtip to dark circles, leave on for 15 minutes, and then wash off completely.

Stay away from bleaches and peels that claim to lighten skin.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

Find ways to reduce stress like practicing yoga.

In the morning, tap the skin under your eyes lightly with 1 or 2 fingers. This will increase blood flow.

Dont scratch the skin under your eyes. If you have to, lightly dab it with some cold water.

Dip 2 cotton balls in rose water and lightly dab around your eyes.

Place 2 cold cucumber slices over your eyes.

Our bodies are sensitive and respond quickly to changes in levels of vitamins and minerals. So try focusing on practicing a healthy diet and if you decide to use a cream or serum to clear dark circles, make sure those products contain natural ingredients.

I encourage you to try these at home and you'll find your dark circles will disappear over time and your face will become brighter, healthier and younger looking! - 15634
