Make And Drink Your Own Wine, It's Easy!

By Georgia Sutherland

Making your own wine is a hobby that has grown a lot the past few years. There are some good reasons for this.

one is that for the few past years, there has been a number of books published on home wine making, and a number of "How to" manuals providing the information needed to get started.

Another reason is that you can make your own wine for only pennies per bottle. Many are cutting costs these days, and why not make your own wine when it can be a substantial savings.

And here's the best reason: It is just a lot of fun and very gratifying to make your own wine. Making all the preparations including choosing the fruit and or berries to include, what type of yeast to use, and then watching the fermentation take place... it never loosed its excitement.

Home made wine can be a wonderful and one of a kind gift, of course in a beautiful bottle and with your own label. Having friends and family over for wine tastings of various wines you have made is another fun aspect of home wine making.

It is easy to get started even of you have never made wine before. There is no need to purchase expensive equipment or gadgets. You will need a few simple and inexpensive things such as a vessel to do the fermenting in. -that can be a five gallon bucket, and air lock and some tubing to decant the wine with.

Making wine at home can be categorized in three different ways:

1. Purchasing a wine kit. Here everything is included, you need only follow the instructions.

2. Making wine from fresh or frozen fruit juices bought in your local store.

3.Using fresh or frozen fruits and or berries.

Home wine making can be quite addictive. Once you have one nice batch of good wine, the imagination can run wild of what you can accomplish. - 15634
